Hey everyone--


So I know that there are a lot of changes and upcoming concerns for my life and future career...but at this point I am going to take a short break and blog about others that have more life-concerning matters at this time.

Carter is a little boy that I got to know this summer. His family just found out that his cancer has returned with a 2nd relapse and are devastated. Callie is a college friend that went to London with me in 2004. She, Lucy, and I were the 3 theater amigas seeing almost 13+ plays while in London. I just found out that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 26. Her attitude is amazing as she begins radiation and chemo. I hope you will read her blog and say prayers for her and her family. Job search update

Hey everyone!


Lots of things happening around here....I've had 4 interviews with 3 different hospitals--TX, SC, and TX. So far the only promising aspect is in Amarillo. Yes, I know....does not sound too exciting. Fortunately, the more time that goes by, the more positive Amarillo seems. I had an interview with a hospital in Dallas today that went so-so. The hospital recruiter was difficult to say the least, so we'll see if he gave me approval to the child life team. I've sort of given up on Charleston so far since they have been very fickle with communication. Right now I have one hospital that wants me---and that feels pretty dang good :)

So needless to say things could change for me very quickly in the span of a month or so. I will be flying to Amarillo to visit the town and hospital and have some on-site interviews. I'll keep everyone posted on what happens there and any decisions made.

Just a little stressful around here not knowing where I will live or when I will move or to where....but just trying to trust that the right job will come up! I've applied constantly to any hospital I find that is hiring in the south. So keep your fingers crossed!

Done!

Well, it's over. Today was my last day at my internship. I completed a 16-week internship of 630 hours in 5 clinical rotations. I had my final review today and got a glowing report for my overall performance and my final projects. Yesterday was possibly the best day of the whole summer because I received several positive comments from nurses at the oncology clinic and completed a successful project presentation. It was so great to hear them say that they thought I was doing an awesome job and was really great at what I was doing. Just more reassurance that God didn't send me on a wild goose chase, that this is really what I am meant to do :)


Also, I found an awesome connection at the hospital in Charleston where I had a phone interview this week. In a roundabout way, I found a connection with the doctor who is the director of the oncology/hematology and bone marrow program at the hospital in Charleston....and she just happens to know all of the physicians I have been working with at the clinic who can vouch for me. So, thanks to those wonderful people, I made an awesome internal connection to give some great referrals to the child life team in Charleston! Yay :) No news yet...but I'm still hoping this is going in a positive direction! It may be a few weeks before I hear anything else---but they did ask for me to send more information on my child development background.

My parents and sister are headed to NC on Saturday for our family vacation to the Outer Banks. Wahoo! I am very excited to have a summer vacation finally :)

Otherwise, I'll be trucking along job searching until the right one comes around. So keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming my way please! Who knows where I will end up....it's an adventure!
